Lehigh Valley Country Club is the oldest golf club in the region. Originally founded in 1908 the club was incorporated in 1910 and celebrated its 100 anniversary eight years ago.
LVCC is located between Allentown and Bethlehem. The club has an 18 hole golf course, a practice range and putting green, swimming pool, tennis courts, paddle courts and a clubhouse that features locker rooms, a fine dining restaurant and banquet facilities.
Lehigh Country Club was designed by Master Golf Architect William Flynn back in 1927 and is one of the most beautiful and natural parkland courses in the world. Situated along the Little Lehigh (stream) in the rolling hills of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, the course follows a routing that is pure Flynn genius. The course is very walkable.
Lehigh ranks 81st on Golfweek Magazine’s 2010 “Best Classic Courses” list.
“Flynn was known for his green designs, and people often tell us this is one of the best sets of greens they’ve ever seen,” said Phillips, who has been at Lehigh since 1986. “With how he used the land and the slopes, there’s nothing artificial about them.”
The club currently has 550 families and membership is by invitation only.
